Fast sprints and tough forest racing ahead in Romanian JWOC

Junior orienteering athletes from 41 different nations will travel to northwestern Romania this week to compete in the 33rdofficial Junior World Orienteering Championships.

工程r last year’s addition of Sprint relay to the JWOC program, 5 races await the 334 athletes from Monday, July 3rdand until the following Saturday.

The sprint races area in central Baia Mare, which is the host city of JWOC 2023, offers flat and fast terrain and “some streets will be blocked” according to the latest bulletin.

From Wednesday and on, it’s time for the forest races which are set on the edge of the Carpathian mountain range, offering moderate to high climb and varied vegetation.
