World Orienteering Championships: Sweden heads medals table

Sweden finished the championships in first place in the medals table with 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze, whilst second-placed Great Britain’s medal haul was 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.

Switzerland took third place, 1 gold plus 1 silver, and Norway fourth, 1 gold plus 1 bronze. The other two medals went to athletes from Belgium and The Netherlands.

Most successful athlete was Megan Carter Davies, Great Britain. She was on last leg in GBR’s silver-medal Sprint Relay team, took another silver medal in the Knock-Out Sprint, and crowned the whole with gold in the Individual Sprint. Behind her are two Swedish athletes: Tove Alexandersson with 2 gold medals, and Gustav Bergman with 1 gold and 1 silver.
